Kilimanjaro
CLIMB FOR A GOOD CAUSE
The project
Climb Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the construction of a maternity clinic in the village of Kombo.
Situation report
Kombo is a Tanzanian village located at the foot of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, in the Arusha region.
Today, the village has a modest healthcare building with only four rooms: a pharmacy, a laboratory, a consultation room,
and an improvised maternity ward with just two beds.
This center serves not only the residents of Kombo but also those from neighboring villages - Meserani, Mvungwe, and Jitengeni - who must travel there for medical care.
Additionally, in Maasai communities, the women traditionally responsible for childbirth are becoming fewer and fewer, making access to proper maternal care even more challenging. Providing them with a safe and well-equipped facility is now more essential than ever.
The project
Our project aims to build a new facility, located across from the existing structure, entirely dedicated to maternity care.
This new space, equipped with around ten beds, will significantly improve childbirth conditions and provide expectant mothers and their babies with safer, more comfortable care.
To bring this project to life, we are collaborating with Kihomi Safari, an ethical agency deeply committed to the local community. In addition to managing all on-site logistics, they actively contribute to funding this initiative by donating a portion of their profits.
A valuable partnership that combines responsible tourism with a meaningful impact on local communities.

The climbers
7 days hiking - 62 km - 5895 meters altitude.
They support us.
We would like to thank these companies for associating their image with a meaningful initiative, combining adventure, surpassing oneself and solidarity.
Together, we can offer expectant mothers a safe environment in which to give birth.
